Selectivity
We work with only 300 JMO candidates per year. We will only work with top 10% performers with proven leadership skill and a strong desire to excel in Corporate America. Some firms in the industry work with 10 times that number. We hold the line at 300 because we will not compromise our selection standards, nor the service we provide to every Alliance candidate.
Quality of Opportunities
There is an intuitive relationship between the quality of our candidates and the quality of our opportunities. The companies that we work with are not seeking just mediocre officers to fill a position; they want top talent for developmental positions. Thus because of our selectivity, we can offer our candidates the best opportunities in the industry. Additionally, we are also selective about which opportunities we will represent. If an opportunity is not truly developmental and with a firm that we believe has the necessary financial strength, market position, and ethics, we will not work with them. It is common sensical that a recruiting firm that casts a wide net for candidates must also do the same for opportunities.
Retention
Because a military officer leaving the military is so valued in Corporate America- finding a job is relatively easy. However, finding the right first job is extremely hard. In fact, far too many top-tier JMO’s will leave their first job before two years, and before they have been promoted. Why such poor retention? Sometimes a candidate joined a firm that is not a growth company or is not a growth industry. Sometimes it is a matter of the job not being compatible with the candidate, and the former JMO has a challenge with job satisfaction. While some firms proudly boast of their number of placements, we are most proud of our retention. Our greater than 95% retention rate for placed JMO’s is by far the industry’s best. It is a result of three simple facts:

Candidate Focus and Service
The more we know about our candidates, the better we can precisely place them into an appropriate opportunity that fits not just their talent, but their passion. Again, the need to offer this type of premium service is another reason why we choose to be selective and work with quality, not quantity.
Training
One way we interact with candidates is through a great training program that involves one on one training sessions on a regular scheduled basis up to one year prior to a hiring conference. This training includes many things to include Harvard Business School Case Studies, financial statements and strength finder tests. Our training program will prepare you for the corporate world while helping us find a proper fit. As we get closer to a hiring conference our training shifts to interview preparation. We will drive the process with introspection exercises and then give each candidate six one on one mock interviews over several weeks that will not only offer candidate interview practice but also provide constructive feedback from experienced professionals. The benefit of our interview preparation program is 100% success rates at our conferences. Every candidate walks away with follow up interviews.
Respect
Part of our candidate focus approach is to treat our top-tier candidates as business professionals. A top JMO should never pay for an interview, as a result Alliance uniquely covers all travel and lodging expenses for our candidates to attend hiring conferences. This may be only worth about $1,000 on average per candidate, but it speaks volumes about how we value our candidates and our confidence that they will find a great opportunity. Only 5% of JMO hiring conferences that are held each year result in the majority of candidates finding a job. Alliance has a 100% success rate.
Lifetime Assistance
Many recruiting firms stop the moment a candidate starts a job. With Alliance, the first job is just the beginning. We stay with you for those first few months to ensure the job goes well in a mentoring capacity if necessary. Additionally, Alliance has an Industry Experience division that can help you throughout the continuance of your corporate career. We can place you in additional jobs up to about $300,000 per year. Lastly, if the day ever comes where you desire to become involved with an entrepreneurial opportunity, Alliance, thru its affiliated private equity firm can provide capital to start or grow a business. We genuinely want to be able to assist you if necessary from the moment you begin your corporate career until retirement.
